Wrinkles

These lines are usually treated with BOTULINUM TOXIN (BTX).

It is injected into the muscle to make it weaker or less active, therefore softening / smoothing the lines. Most people see a difference after one treatment. How long it lasts depends on your muscle activity, although it is generally repeated every 4-6 months. Some people find they need treatment less and less after having several treatments. It is better to start before the lines get too bad, although its never too late to start!

Is It Painful?

There is an initial minor sting.

After Treatment

You may have a little redness, this can be covered with makeup. Occasionally bruising or swelling occurs though this is rare. After treatment the area may feel strange and you may experience a headache type sensation for a couple of days. This sensation gets less with subsequent treatments.

These areas are usually treated by injecting a gel like product into the skin. Young skin has large amount of hyaluronic acid. Dermal Fillers help hydrate your skin by using modified forms of hyaluronic acid. Essentially we are replacing natural product your skin can no longer produce in the same volume. They generally last 6-18 months. They are safe and very effective. Anaesthetic is used beforehand so the filler can be injected with minimal discomfort.
